In chapter one they introduce the characters. They are Nick, Gatsby, Daisy, Tom, and Jordan.
Nick is the main character and he says that he is the author of this story. He lives in West Egg where he rented a little house. He is the cousin of Daisy. And an old college buddy of Tom. And it explains how they know each other.
